Altseason on pause?

April 2021 has come to an end and like each month the 100eyes team analyses what happened to Bitcoin and the altcoin market. First of all, Bitcoin decreased in value for the first time in seven months. Bitcoin’s price is now 3.4% lower than it was a month ago. It was a quite exciting month though. Bitcoin set a new ATH (which is now $64.854) and dropped 27.5% after that.

Altcoins slowed down a bit as well in April, gaining only 15.54% in dollar value. It’s still decent, but nothing compared to March. In March altcoins gained 121.3% on average.

In the following chart you can see how April compared to the last twelve months of altcoin performance.

The top 5 performers in April were $WRX (+281.64%), $NKN (+267.94%), $XRP (+204.58%), $ZEN (+141.95%), and $BTG (+139.87%). Biggest losers were $MTH (-29.37%), $QKC (-30.67%), $MTL (-31.74%), $POLY (-36.49%), and $WABI (-37.56%).
